“Join the Conversation with Bette & Christine” is a monthly peer support group hosted by MS Monterey, offering a welcoming space for individuals affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s to connect, share experiences, and find support. Led by Bette Nee-Williams and Christine Gustafson, the group meets virtually via Zoom on the third Thursday of each month, providing a consistent opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful discussions about living with MS & PD. The sessions are designed to address various aspects of the MS journey, including daily challenges, self-care strategies, and emotional well-being. This initiative is part of MS Monterey’s broader commitment to fostering community and connection among those impacted by MS.
The group has covered a range of topics over the years, such as sleep management, chronic pain, and the importance of self-care. For instance, in March 2022, the session focused on the effects of sleep deprivation on individuals with MS, highlighting the significance of rest in managing symptoms. These discussions not only provide valuable information but also create an environment where participants can learn from each other’s experiences and build lasting connections. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with MS for some time, “Join the Conversation” offers a supportive community to navigate the complexities of MS together.
